Kiolbasa selected as February Senior of the Month PDF Print E-mail

Emily Kiolbasa has been selected as Senior of the Month for February 2011.
Kiolbasa is the daughter of Bob and Brenda Kiolbasa of Grant, and is a senior at Perkins County High School.
During her high school career, she has been a member of FCCLA and student council and FCA,
She has participated in golf and has served as manager for volleyball and basketball.
She has been a band and chorus member and has participated in marching band and flag corps.
She has also been active in musicals, one act plays and spring plays.
Kiolbasa has held a class office and was inducted into the National Honor Society.
She has also been a member of Perkins County Youth Council, has participated in scholastics, art and Quiz Bowl.
She was a Girls State delegate in 2010.
In community service, Kiolbasa has served at class reunions, Relay for Life, Sweetheart Dinner, dinner theater and Perkins County Health Services Foundation dinner, has read to elementary students, participated in Pennies for Patients, collected food for the Perkins County Food Pantry, helped at the Westview Easter egg hunt and junior golf tournament, and assisted at the Little Einstein After School Program.
She has been employed at Westview Retirement Community as a kitchen aide for four years, and at Buenz Drug in Ogallala as a clerk for two years.
After graduation, Kiolbasa plans to attend a four-year college and major in educational psychology, speech pathology or occupational therapy. She intends to work with children in a school system.
For being selected Senior of the Month, Kiolbasa’s picture will hang in the lobby of Pinnacle Bank in Grant and she will be eligible for a scholarship awarded at the end of the school year.
The Student of the Month and scholarship program are sponsored by Pinnacle Bank of Grant and members of the community.
