Mathew A. Uptergrove, 21, was sentenced by Judge Edward D. Steenburg in Perkins County Court on Jan. 21 on amended charges.
The defendant received a fine, jail sentence and probation for assault in the third degree, amended from an original felony charge of terroristic threats. Another count against the defendant was dropped.
Uptergrove was ordered to pay a $350 fine plus court costs, serve 30 days in jail, and remain on probation for 12 months.
The defendant was given credit for two days served in jail and was sentenced to commence a five-day term on Jan. 26 in the Keith County Jail. He was ordered to serve the remaining 23 days commencing January 2010.
