Wallace speakers participate in RPAC contest PDF Print E-mail

The 2010-2011 Republican Plains Activity Conference (RPAC) Speech Contest was held on Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Medicine Valley Jr./Sr. High School in Curtis. Over 200 students from the 14 member schools competed at the event.

WHS speakers and medalists included: Persuasive: Morgan Jameson. Serious Prose: Jaclyn Nelson. Extemporaneous Speaking: Ryan Sowle, first. Informative Public Speaking: John Paul Lempke first. Oral Interpretation of Drama: Swedberg/Hasenauer/Sowle/Lundvall second, Neilson/Griffiths/Jameson/Marquardt/Sowle. Humorous Prose: John Paul Lempke third, Landon Swedberg. Entertainment Speaking:Lane Swedberg, first. Duet Acting: Marquardt and Marquardt. Informative Speaking: John Paul Lempke first.

Bertrand took top team honors with 136 points. Wallace finished second with 110 points.
Other competing schools included Wauneta-Palisade, Dundy County Stratton, Southern Valley, Paxton, Arapahoe, Alma, Southwest, Cambridge, Hayes Center, Maywood, Medicine Valley and Hitchcock County.
