High school students attend tech skills contest PDF Print E-mail

Nearly 80 high school students from eight area high schools participated in a technical skills contest Wednesday, Feb. 16,  at North Platte Community College’s North Campus.
The event highlighted the technical programs that are available at NPCC and gave the students an opportunity to spend time with instructors at the college.
The students competed in “hands-on” testing in five technical areas, including automotive mechanical technology, building construction, cabinet making, heating ventilation and air conditioning, and welding. Each student was allowed to compete in only one area.
Following a morning of testing, the students were judged on their technical skills.
Wallace High School students Tyler McCoy, Ethan Scott, Shawn Christensen and Jordan Christner placed second in building construction (teams).
