Wilbur gets wooed PDF Print E-mail

It was a toss-up as to who was more unhappy last Friday—kissing contestant Dana Lee or the recipient, Wilbur. Roof-raising squeals let it be known he was not willing to cooperate with such nonsense as Lee reluctantly but good-naturedly goes for the snout. A room full of enthusiastic FFA students, teachers and supporters witnessed the school secretary plant one on for having the most popular fundraising jar during National FFA Week at Perkins County High School. Two separate “Kiss the Pig” gatherings were held during the lunch hour. Lee was competing against science teacher Scott King, and FFA members Katie Rowley, reporter, and parliamentarian Jessi Hoffert for the early show. Kissing competitors for the second lunch period included winner FFA advisor Doug Babbitt (whose colleagues bailed him out with donations) and FFA members Jeremy Hagan (who did the kissing), vice-president Ashley Kemling, secretary Taylor Boldt, treasurer Seth Burge (owner of the two swine) and sentinel Michael York. Just over $380 was raised for the general fund of the school’s FFA chapter. (Photo by Jan Rahn)
