A wide variety of online and on-campus classes are scheduled to begin the week of March 21 at Mid-Plains Community College campuses in North Platte and McCook.
Online classes offer convenience and flexibility while allowing students to earn anywhere from one to four credit hours.
Late-start online class offerings include General Botany (with online lab), The Job Application Process, MS Office Access, Expository Writing II, Entrepreneurship Business Plan, Purchasing Logistics, College Algebra and Music Appreciation.
On-campus classes at NPCC include Excel Basic, MS Office –Power Point, Introduction to Windows, Expository Writing I, EMS Instructor Trainer, CFC Certification in HVAC, Nursing Assistant, Medication Aide and Reconstructing and Upholstering a Couch.
Additionally, numerous physical education classes including Weight Training I, II, III & IV, Training & Conditioning I, II, III & IV, Golf, Beginning and Intermediate Yoga, Power Sculpting II, Turbo Kick, and Step Aerobic/Cardio Ball II will begin on March 21.
Classes scheduled at MCC include MS Office Excel, College Success, Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support and Advanced Medical Life Support, Nursing Assistant and Medication Aide. Physical education offerings are Swimming I & II, Aerobics I & II and Golf.
“These late starting classes offer an excellent way to complete a typically full-term, 16 week course in about half the time,” said Chuck Salestrom, area director of public information and marketing for MPCC.
“In many instances, the courses will require a commitment for a shorter period of time and still receive the same level of quality education,” he added.
