Gaar selected as March Senior of the Month PDF Print E-mail

Krystal Gaar has been selected as the March 2011 Senior of the Month.
Gaar, a student at Perkins County High School, is the daughter of Pastor Russ and Jeanne Gaar of Grant.
During her high school career, she has been a member of student council, National Honor Society, and has held several class offices.
In sports, she has participated in cross country, basketball and track.
She has been a member of chorus and swing choir as well as several musicals and dramatic productions.
In addition, she has participated in Bible quiz, has had her art displayed locally, won a Nebraska’s Young Artist award in visual arts and was selected as Girls State alternate.
In community service, Gaar has attended a mission trip to Jamaica, babysat for the bloodmobile, served as a worship leader at church and served for dinner theater through the arts council.
After graduation, Gaar plans to attend Chadron State College and major in English or art education with a minor in public relations.
Gaar enjoys people and helping out wherever needed. She believes in having a good attitude in everything she does and tries to be a positive influence on her friends and younger children in the community.
She is thankful for family, friends and especially God for her successes so far.
For being selected Senior of the Month, Gaar’s picture will hang in the lobby of Pinnacle Bank in Grant and she will be eligible for a scholarship awarded at the end of the school year.
The Student of the Month and scholarship program are sponsored by Pinnacle Bank of Grant and members of the community.
