Area students compete at NPCC PDF Print E-mail

North Platte Community College hosted its annual Inter-High Scholastic Competition and TECH-Knowledge and Skills Discovery Day recently at the North and South Campuses of the college.
Students from 30 area schools took more than 800 tests during the Inter-High competition and approximately 140 students from 20 high schools participated in the TECH Skills competition.
The students who participated were vying for Mid-Plains Community College area scholarships of $500 each. The scholarship dollars were awarded to the high schools and they, in turn, will select the recipient.
Awards were presented to the top three individual finishers in all categories. They also received a certificate for three credit hours of free tuition to be used at MPCC.
The schools also competed in divisions, with individual schools receiving three points for first place finishers, two points for second place, and one point for third.
Results of NPCC’s Inter-High Day are: Information Technology– third, Christian Miyamoto, Perkins County; Grammar and Composition–first, John Paul Lemke, Wallace; Mathematics–third, Lane Swedberg, Wallace; Music–first, John Paul Lempke, Wallace
Wallace High School placed first among the school in Division 3.        
Shawn Christensen and Jordan Christner of Wallace High School placed first in the Building Construction division of NPCC’s TECH-Knowledge and Skills competition.
