Perkins County athletes compete in SPVA conference meet PDF Print E-mail

Perkins County boys and girls athletes placed fourth and fifth respectively in the SPVA meet held Friday, April 29 in Hershey.
In competition with St. Pats, Hershey, Chase County, Stherland and Maxwell, the boys scored 70 points. St. Pats won the boys division with 121.
Hershey won the girls division with 134 points. Sixty-four points put Perkins County girls ahead of Maxwell for the girls.
Senior Debbie Dahlkoetter, who has fought a shoulder  injury for much of the school term, took the gold in discus with a throw of 120’6”.
Ashley Kemling was a gold medalist for the girls in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:33.60. Kemling also medaled in the 1600 meter run with a second place time of 6:08.70.
The boys 4x100 relay team captured first place with a time of 46.60. Team members include Quinton Hite, Rafael Mora, Brody Prante and Michael York.
Mora and York each placed first in another event—Mora in the 400 meter dash with a time of 51.70 and York in triple jump with a leap of 41’9”.

Next Meet
The Plainsmen took part in the Best of the Midwest meet in Sutherland Tuesday, and will compete in Dundy County’s twilight meet Friday.
With the season nearing completion, next week’s District Meet will be held in Bayard on Thursday, May 12, beginning at 10 a.m.
