Here’s a chance to be a permanent part of the historical celebration of Perkins County—submit your favorite recipes to be published in a cookbook commemorating the 125th anniversary.
The deadline for submitting recipes is July 22 so the cookbook committee can get busy putting it together and have it published in time to be sold at the Christmas Open House event in November.
All current or former Perkins County residents are asked to submit no more than five of their favorite recipes.
Each submission can include a short note at the bottom with information on the recipe such as family history.
Recipe collection sheets are available from any committee member or online from Morris Press Cookbooks: www.morriscookbooks.com/dc/tns10/RecipeCollection.pdf
Guidelines for submission appear on the collection sheet.
The cookbook committee is eager for participants to submit their recipes as soon as possible, so get busy digging out those old family favorites.
Submissions should be mailed to: Perkins County Q-125 Cookbook, P.O. Box 324, Grant NE 69140.
They may also be dropped off in the Assessor’s Office at the Perkins County Courthouse, 200 Lincoln Ave., Grant.
Members of the committee include Peggy Burton, Bonnie Appel, Lynn Schumacher and Chris Loeffler.
All proceeds from sales of the cookbook will go toward the cost of the county’s quasquicentennial celebration to be held in 2012.
