Nebraska bankers teach importance of saving PDF Print E-mail

Bankers across Nebraska and throughout the country left the bank for the classroom to teach America’s children to save in celebration of the 14th annual Teach Children to Save Day in April.
Children learn through activities, interactive scenarios, and sharing real-life experiences. The lessons cover the basics of saving, how interest makes money grow, how to create a budget, and how to distinguish needs from wants.
The Teach Children to Save program is a national campaign that organizes banker volunteers to educate young people about the importance of developing a lifelong savings habit.
Since 1997, the campaign has reached 3.4 million young people with the help of some 80,000 banker volunteers. Students can get savings education resources from the Teach Children to Save website at
Participating in the Teach Children to Save program in Grant were Pinnacle Bank and Valley Bank.
