Special 9/11 program to be aired on NET PDF Print E-mail

On Sept. 11, 2011, the nation will mark the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. NET Radio will carry live special programming from NPR, which will include coverage of ceremonies in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, Penn.
NPR’s Audie Cornish will anchor NPR’s coverage from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. CT. She will be joined by “All Things Considered” host Robert Siegel, reporting from the World Trade Center site in New York City, and NPR correspondents Tom Gjelten at the Pentagon and John Ydstie in Shanksville. “Morning Edition” host Renee Montagne will report live from Kabul, Afghanistan.
“Nebraska Concerts” will be heard at its usual time, beginning at 1 p.m. CT. Following the conclusion of “Nebraska Concerts” at 3 p.m. CT, NET Radio will resume special September 11 news coverage hosted by NPR’s Neal Conan, followed by “Weekend Edition” at 4 p.m. CT.
