Strawberry breeder to share techniques PDF Print E-mail

A strawberry breeding expert with local roots will be sharing some of her knowledge about natural strawberry breeding techniques at a special event hosted by the Ogallala Garden Club.
Originally from Elsie-Madrid, Renae Robinson of Santa Maria, Calif. is a lead strawberry breeder with Driscoll Company. With a degree in horticulture, a minor in agronomy and a related masters degree, Renae knows what is involved in propagating new, delicious breeds of strawberries.
The program will begin at 6 p.m. MT, Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Educational Service Unit 16 building, 314 West 1st Street in Ogallala (On Hwy 30 across the street south of the Sunmart Grocery Store).
The public is invited to the event and it is hoped people will take advantage of this unique opportunity. There is no charge, but seating is limited so anyone interested in attending is asked to RSVP to ensure adequate seating is available.
