Concert association announces upcoming series–tickets available PDF Print E-mail

Season tickets to the North Platte Concert Association’s 2011-2012 series are still available.
The current season will begin with a Tribute to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 10, at the Neville Center for the Performing Arts, 5th and Bailey.
“The Unexpected Boys” will present this award-winning tribute. These “Jersey wise guys” have performed in a total of 12 different Broadway shows, including the “Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Miserables,” “Hairspray,” and “Wicked.” The concert will include some Broadway music along with songs of the popular 1960s group. “Jersey Boys,” a very successful Broadway musical, tells the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons
The season will also include classic western music, a Nebraska brass ensemble, and a tribute to famous musicians of the 50s.
Other concerts scheduled for the current season are:
A Nebraska Brass Christmas, Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, 7:30 p.m.
Composed of musicians with years of experience in both classical and popular music, this ensemble will present a concert of Christmas music. These musicians have toured internationally and have performed with the Omaha, Lincoln, Dallas, and Chicago symphony orchestras, the Strategic Air Command Band, and the Mannheim Steamroller.
Riders in the Sky, Saturday, March 17, 2012, 7:30 p.m.
A winner of many Grammy awards, this famous group presents a fun-filled concert of music grounded in the rich American traditions of legendary cowboy singers such as Gene Autry and Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers.
Richie Lee and the Fabulous 50s, Monday, May 7, 2012, 7:30 p.m.
In the leading Buddy Holly tribute act in the country, Richie Lee also pays tribute to other famous musicians such as Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Chuck Berry, Ricky Nelson, and Eddie Cochran. When he was seven years old, Richie Lee won a Buddy Holly look alike/lip sync contest.
Margaret Balerud, president of the concert association, commented, “We have an unusual line-up that will appeal to almost everyone.”
