The Perkins County golfers attended the Bridgeport Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 22, short a couple players due to illness.
The meet is one of the larger in the season, with teams they will be competing against at districts.
“This is always a good measuring stick toward the end of the season,” said Coach Troy Kemling.
As a team, Perkins County finished eighth with 548 points.
In first place was Bridgeport with 426, Kimball in second with 464 and Gering JV in third with 479 points.
Individually, Janet Kuskie placed seventh with a score of 105 (52-53).
Still getting used to a new driver after breaking her regular club earlier in the week, she was disappointed with her game, said Kemling.
“She did find out that her subpar game is still medal-worthy,” he added.
Fellow golfers Capri Meyer, Hailey Sletten and Rachel Carrig continue to gain valuable experience in competition.
“It’s not where we want it to be but strides are being made,” said Kemling.
