Grant/Imperial mayors make a friendly football wager PDF Print E-mail

Grant Mayor Mike Wyatt  and Imperial Mayor Dwight Coleman have an added reason to see their hometown teams win Thursday night’s opening C2 football playoff game.
Both are fans of their respective Plainsmen and Longhorn teams, who are playing each other in the first round of the playoffs tonight (Thursday) at 7 p.m. in Grant.
But they also have a friendly wager in the works, too.
Coleman contacted Grant’s mayor earlier this week, offering a friendly wager of $50 in Chamber Bucks.
Whoever comes out with the playoff win Thursday will get to shop in the other mayor’s hometown with their Chamber Bucks winnings.
The two mayors will meet at the 50-yard line just before the coin toss Thursday to make the wager official, Coleman said.
Rod Cornelius of Pinnacle Bank in Grant will hold the funds until the game is over.
