Congress has passed and the president has signed an extension of the Heavy Highway Vehicle Use tax, a 2290 form.
Individuals who have a vehicle that has a registration weight of more than 27 tons are required to fill out a 2290 form. Recently a postcard was mailed out to those who need to fill out this form.
The Perkins County Treasurer’s office can complete and mail the form at no charge, instead of E-filing which charges a fee.
If the form has been filled out since July, a new one needs to be filed.
The office has gone through their records and are filling out the forms for individuals to sign.
