A warm invitation is extended to the entire community for the annual Thanksgiving Day feast set for Thursday, Nov. 24 at the American Legion Hall in Grant.
For the past 27 years, organizers have put together this community event for people to enjoy a delicious meal and fellowship.
Organizing the event for the past 10 years have been Bob and DeeAnn Tatum. Volunteers come forward to help in many capacities and help is once again being sought to make it a successful day.
Also contributing to the meal’s success are local businesses. Hatch’s Super Foods will donate 11 turkeys. Dinner rolls will be provided by Pankonin’s Heaven Scent Bakery. Cash will be donated from an employee fund at Perkins County Health Services to help purchase some of the food.
Those who attend the community feast are asked to bring their favorite salad, side dish, or dessert. The bulk of the meal  is provided—turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, rolls, cranberry sauce, corn, green beans, drinks and tableware.
Carry-out is available and there is always an abundance of food for anyone who wants to take home some leftovers.
Volunteers Needed
Help is needed to cook the turkeys, peel potatoes, do some cooking, set up, serve and clean up.
Please contact the Tatums at 308-352-4574 to volunteer with preparing the Thanksgiving Day feast and make plans to join others in celebrating and giving thanks on Nov. 24.
