Some goodies are a must

I get daily emails of fun recipes and things I would like to try. One day I was racking my brain for something fun to make for the annual fire department Christmas party. I decided to get back to work so I began to check my email. I had a curious email titled Edible Gifts from
As I sifted through, I came across the recipe below. Instantly I knew I had to make these. It was the cutest thing I had ever seen. Of course, I have to make and test a recipe before I can share it with the world, so that is exactly what I did. They were awesome! Not only awesome to eat, but really easy to make. It is a must-have on the neighborhood goodie plates this year!

Melting Snowmen

1 pkg. cream cheese softened
24 Nutter Butter cookies finely crushed
1 pkg. almond bark or white bakers chocolate
1 pkg. mini Oreo cookies
gel icing for decoration
Put cream cheese and crushed cookies in a medium bowl and mix well with hands. Form into bite-size balls and place on a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper. Freeze for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, melt the almond bark or bakers chocolate in a small saucepan. Remove balls from freezer and place one by one in the saucepan. Coat well and scoop back onto parchment paper. Allow the excess to pool at the bottom of the ball, giving the melted look. Immediately garnish with an Oreo cookie on the top for a hat so it will stick.
Once all the balls are coated and garnished with hats, use icing to place a face on each. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until serving.
