Perkins County speech season underway PDF Print E-mail

Saturday, Jan. 7, opened the competitive speech season for PCHS speakers who travelled to Imperial for the annual Chase County Invite.
The contest, attended by students from seven area schools (Wallace, Wauneta-Palisade, Hershey, Southwest, Paxton, Chase County, and Perkins County), followed a traditional two-round preliminary, one-round final scope of competition.
Competitors, events, and finals placings were: Informative: Kristin Beck–first, Rebecca Cornelius–third; Persuasive: Tori Osler–second, Callie Meyer–fourth; Entertainment: Sammy Snogren–second, Allison Kiolbasa; Extemporaneous: Trevor Lee–first, Tori Osler second–Poetry: Lexi Schmidt– third, Rachel Carrig–fifth, Lila Konecky–sixth; Humorous Prose: Ashley Kemling–first, Lexi Schmidt–second, Brady Mailand–fourth, Lila Konecky–sixth; Serious Prose: Ashley Kemling–second, Kylie Hansen–fourth, Rachel Carrig; Duet Acting: Mariah Curtis and Sammy Snogren–first, Rebecca Johnson and Allison Kiolbasa–second, Kylie Hansen and Lexi Schmidt–third, Lacey Jensen and Rachel Patrick–sixth, Hannah Beck and Stephanie Schrotberger; Top Novice Duet: Callie Meyer and Colton White, Elizabeth Krajewski and Taylor Walter; Oral Interp of Drama: Elliot Carlson, Michael Dreiling, Quinton Hite, Jake Sexson, and Colton White–first and Lacey Jensen, Trevor Lee and Rachel Patrick–second.
PCHS took home first place team honors, followed by Chase County and Wallace.
