New program established at Elementary PDF Print E-mail

To recognize and reward good behavior and accomplishments, Perkins County Elementary has established a “Student of the Month” program.
Organizer and preschool teacher Kami Krajewski said she came up with the idea because she felt kids should be recognized for the positive things they do, such as getting good grades and having good attendance. She said rewarding students for positive behavior is just as important as student programs that seem to focus on needs in areas like learning disabilities or inappropriate behavior.
A donation was received from Steve Tucker of Venango to help get the program underway, and the Six Aces Roller Rink, SUBWAY® and In & Out contributed coupons for student rewards.
During December, six elementary students (K-5) were selected for recognition as “Student of the Month.” This month, however, one boy and one girl from each grade have been selected, bringing the total to 12 honored students during January.
