Six Plainsmen wrestlers returned with medals awarded at the Chase County Invite on Saturday, Jan. 14 in Imperial.
Medaling for Perkins County were Garrett Toner, who took second in the 120 lb. division; Vinny Ross, second at heavyweight; Austin Thelander, third at 106 lb.; Christian Miyamoto, third at 145 lb.; Trey Johnson and Mark Hanson, both in fourth place in the 126 lb. and 138 lb. brackets respectively.
As a team, Perkins County finished eighth out of 13 teams, scoring 69 points.
In first place was Chadron with 140 points . Second went to Sidney with 94 and third to Bridgeport with 91.
Other team placings were Ogallala fourth, 87; Cambridge fifth, 79; Dundy County-Stratton sixth, 73; North Platte St. Pat’s seventh, 70.
In ninth place was Garden County who scored 64 points; Holyoke was 10th with 58; Hitchcock County 11th with 34; Chase County and Hershey were 12th and 13th with 18 and 15 points.

Trey Johnson (126 lb.) fourth place, pinned by M. Muggli, Sidney 1:11; won 15-6 T. Zink, Ogallala; pinned T. Reichert, Dundy County-Stratton 1:48.
Mark Hanson (138 lb.) fourth place, lost 0-8 B. Nichols, Bridgeport; won 5-3 N. Ortner, Holyoke; won 5-2 T. Banzhaf, Cambridge; lost 0-7 L. Tinnon, Ogallala.
Christian Miyamoto (145 lb.) third place, lost 3-10 W. Cogdill, Chadron; pinned T. Whiting, Hershey 2:36; won 5-4 M. Beck, Garden County; won by forfeit J Garcia, Ogallala.
Michael Tucker (JV) pinned by D. Thalken, NPSP 2:30; pinned by A. Morrow, Chadron :21; pinned by T. Combs, Wray, Colo. 1:06.
Sean Farnsworth, lost 12-13 B. Edmonds, Ogallala; won 6-5 B. Smith, Bridgeport.
