Consider joining the 4-H Cat Project PDF Print E-mail

Those who like learning about cats and having fun may want to consider joining the 4-H Cat Project.
Three levels are available to participants:
• Level 1 - Purr-fect Pals: Participants will learn about being a good cat owner. Topics include cat breeds, behavior, good health, grooming and feeding.
• Level 2 - Climbing Up: Participants will build on what was learned in Level 1, concentrating on cat diseases, genetics, first aid, showmanship and more. They will also gain life skills such as problem solving, using resources, and organization.
• Level 3 - Leaping Forward: Leadership is emphasized in this level with participants being asked to organize events, investigate complicated issues and give presentations, teach others and make decisions. They will also delve deeper into topics already explored including nutrition, behavior and genetics, as well as be introduced to new topics such as zoonoses, geriatric medicine, and cat-related careers.
Anyone interested in the 4-H Cat Project should stop by the local 4-H extension office at the Perkins County Courthouse and request a manual.
