Dangerous winter storm rolls through PDF Print E-mail

 

What began as rain in the early morning hours on Monday turned treacherous when snow began falling and winds picked up around 9 a.m. Visibility was zero in some parts of the area and blowing snow across the roadways made for hazardous travel. A semi-ruck jack-knifed at mile marker 24 between Grant and Madrid, requiring assistance from the Madrid and Grant Volunteer Fire Departments for traffic control until it could be cleared from Highway 23.
