Anyone looking for continuing education credits, professional development, or personal enrichment classes is invited to join in one or more of the following classes offered by The Mid-Plains Center for Enterprise at North Platte Community College.
Living Frugally and Still Having Fun! – Does the word “budget” cause nightmares? Is the money gone before the end of the month? Come learn how to get off that merry-go-round and live frugally while still having fun.
Class will be from 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 3 and May 10, at the South Campus with Carolyn Robbins as the instructor. Class fee is $35.
Meditation 101 – The benefits of what deep relaxation can do for our bodies – this class explores both active and passive medication, suggestions for how to slow down, enjoy life more, and relax! You will explore guided visualizations and practice easy, fun ways to relieve stress.
Class will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 7, at the South Campus with Robyn Johnston as the instructor. Class fee is $25.
Nine Star Ki – A sister class to The Art of Feng Shui, this class offers valuable insight to our personalities and how they relate to family, friends, co-workers, and various environments. You will learn your “Power Colors” as well as identify what Feng Shui elements are most supportive of them.
Class will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 14, at the South Campus with Robyn Johnston as the instructor. Class fee is $25.
Driver Education - This course consists of 20 hours of classroom time and five hours of driving time as required by the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles. It prepares drivers for licensure by awarding a written drive test waiver upon satisfactory completion. Students must attend all sessions in order to get the written drive test waiver. Minimum age is 14.
Class will be held May 21 through June 4, with no class on Memorial Day. Students can either attend an 8 to 10 a.m. session or 10 a.m. to noon session at the North Campus with instructor Brett Joneson. Driving sessions will be separate from class times. Class fee is $225.
Dutch-Oven Cooking – This class is designed for those with some experience with Dutch ovens. You will prepare and cook a main dish, side dish and dessert during the class. All necessary equipment and supplies will be provided. You will also receive unique recipes which you can use in your next camp. Bring your appetite; dinner is served!
Class will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, at the South Campus with Rick Windham as the instructor. Class fee is $15.
