Deadline reminders for May 15 Primary PDF Print E-mail

Sample ballots for the May 15 Primary Election will appear in next week’s issue for selecting candidates on federal and state tickets, senatorial and congressional races, along with local hospital board, commissioner and school district members.
Below are guidelines and deadlines for registering to vote and for voting early.
• Friday, May 4 is the deadline to register to vote or to make changes in voter registration information. The Perkins County Clerk’s office will be open until 6 p.m. for this purpose.
• Early voting is underway. Voters may cast their ballots until Monday, May 14, in the Perkins County Clerk’s Office between the hours of 8 a.m.-4 p.m. An early voting ballot may also be requested in the mail, however, ballots will not be mailed to voters after Wednesday, May 9.
• Early voting ballots must be returned to the County Clerk’s Office—do not return the ballot to the polls.
• Early voting ballots must be returned to the County Clerk by 7 p.m. on May 15 either by mail or personal delivery.
