Input sought for 125th anniversary edition of Perkins County history PDF Print E-mail

By Jan Rahn
Managing Editor
In order for the 125th anniversary committee to compile, publish and sell a book on Perkins County’s history in the near future, it is important that they receive input from the public.
A book will be published depicting the lives and stories of people in Perkins County. Included will be photos, history, backgrounds of communities, churches and civic organizations, along with family histories.
People are invited to submit their stories to become a historical part of this publication that will be passed on to future generations in Perkins County.
It’s going to take input from many sources in order to compose background information on churches, businesses and organizations, along with family history, weather, crops, etc., so that the full scope of the county’s history can be assembled.
Initially, those who inquired about submitting family stories were told no due to the time frame and space. However, the committee has decided it’s those types of stories that make Perkins County history what it is.
The deadline for submission is Monday, May 21. Anything received past that date will not make it into the book. It must be in typed format and either mailed or emailed using a Word document that can be sent as an attachment.  Handwritten submissions will not be accepted.
If photographs are to be included, they must be in a usable format. Photocopies of pictures are not acceptable.
Original photographs scan-ned onto a computer in either pdf or jpg formats are required. New photographs taken with a digital camera can be loaded onto a computer and emailed as an attachment.
