History class on “Nebraska and the West” to be offered at extended campuses PDF Print E-mail

North Platte Community College will offer its “Nebraska & the West” history class via distance learning to its extended campus locations in Imperial and Ogallala and possibly to McCook Community College, Broken Bow and Valentine during the fall semester.
“Although I’ve taught this course before, the updated distance learning technology and classroom space in the new Health and Science Center at NPCC now allow us to offer it as a DL class to several other campus locations,” said history/philosophy instructor Dr. Glynn Wolar.
According to Wolar, this elective history class is a survey of Nebraska history as it relates to the development of the Great Plains and the American West that includes social, cultural, political, intellectual, economic, and geographical themes.
“This is the type of history course that tends to be particularly attractive to secondary school teachers, as well as to non-traditional students,” noted Wolar.
The class will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday evenings beginning Aug. 30 in room 216 at the Health and Science Center on the South Campus of NPCC.
