SHIIP volunteers complete training PDF Print E-mail

The Nebraska Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP) would like to recognize the dedication and hard work of Patricia Stever, Jennifer Haneborg and Tammy Guernsey from the Grant and North Platte area who have completed the volunteer training through the SHIIP program. The Nebraska SHIIP appreaciates them for sharing their time, wisdom and passion in being able to assist people in the different communities.
The Nebraska SHIIP is a program based on Nebraskans helping Nebraskans. In the often confusing world of Medicare, volunteer counselors serve as a trusted source for unbiased information.
SHIIP counselors are known statewide as trusted advocates who provide the objective, accurate and confidential assistance to Medicare beneficiaries.
Because Medicare and other types of health insurance can be confusing, the federal government, through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, funds a senior health insurance assistance program in every state.
The Nebraska SHIIP’s mission is to inform, educate and assist seniors and those with disabilities to make informed decisions on topics related to health insurance.
Anyone interested in becoming a SHIIP volunteer counselor should contact Rhonda Godbey, West Central Area Agency on Agin at 308-535-8195 or 1-800-234-7119.
