Submit ideas for well house design
Submit creative ideas for the new design on the well house at Grant City Park. Deadline is Sept. 13.
Youth from the Grant United Methodist Church made a difference in their community by painting the well house at the Grant City Park. The cinder block structure previously sported a patriotic mural that had deteriorated over the years.
The building was power-washed by city employees, and paint and supplies were donated by the Perkins County Area Arts Council.
The project was in keeping with the year’s theme for youth group: “Made to Make a Difference.” This project is the first in an effort to make a difference in Perkins County.
The next step of the project is to select a design to paint on the building. The public is invited to share their ideas for consideration.
Participants should be aware that the walls of the building have a rough surface, which may not translate well to very detailed images. Large, simple, colorful shapes would work best.
Designs can be mailed to the Grant United Methodist Church at P.O. Box 70 or attached to an email and sent to
by Thursday, Sept. 13.
The winning design will be chosen by a committee with representation from the City of Grant, the Perkins County Area Arts Council and the United Methodist Youth Fellowship.
