The first competition of the season on Aug. 30 proved too much for the Perkins County Lady Plainsmen as the North Platte St. Pat’s Lady Irish beat them in three sets on the Plainsmen home court, 15-25, 14-25 and 8-25.
“They are young and are learning very quickly what it is going to take to get a win,” said Head Coach Penny Hite of the team. “They just have to keep their heads up and work hard.”
“We played scrappy but couldn’t get our offense to respond,” she added. She commended the Lady Plainsmen on their serving, with three players delivering five ace serves against St. Pat’s.
The Lady Plainsmen next hosted a tournament Tuesday, Sept. 4 and will take on the Lady Dragons of Holyoke, also at home for their homecoming game on Friday night.
Results from both competitions will appear next week.
