By Shari Friedel Tribune Staff With districts just around the corner, Perkins County gained valuable experience at Westwind Golf Course at the Ogallala Invite on Monday, Sept. 17. Districts will be held at Westwind on Monday, Oct. 1 Scoring 476 as a team, Perkins County finished in the fifth place spot. Four team members had nine-hole scores in the 50s, the most so far this year. “This meet was super-positive for us,” said Head Coach Troy Kemling. “I was impressed with all those scores in the 50s.” Kimball took first place with a team score of 425. They were followed by Ogallala JV 439, Dundy County-Stratton 467 and Hershey 472. Creek Valley finished in sixth place with a score of 488. Prior to the meet, the team focused on consistency from one hole to the next. “If you bogie a hole, your goal should be to bogie the next and to continue stringing a few good scores together,” Kemling said. “These girls are improving enough to do that.” “We know that occasionally a bad hole will show up, but we need to expand the number of good holes,” he added. “I saw several good holes in a row, I was pleased with that.” Perkins County Results 1.
