Rotary Club seeks area professionals for goodwill exchange to Brazil PDF Print E-mail

The state of Minas Gerais, between Brazilia and Rio de Janeiro is the destination for this year’s Western Nebraska Rotary District 5630 GSE team. Rotary International organizes group study exchanges with Rotary districts all over the world.
Enthusiastic young professionals who are not Rotarians are invited to apply to be part of this goodwill exhange between Western Nebraska and Rotary District 4580 in Brazil.
Four individuals who are non-Rotarians will be selected to participate in a Rotary “goup study exchange” from May 11-June 8, 2013. A GSE team from Brazil will visit Nebraska in April and May.
The purpose of a group study exchange is to promote international understanding and goodwill through person-to-person contact. While in Brazil, GSE team members will stay in Rotarians’ homes and have the opportunity to meet their professional counterparts. They will also give presentations to Rotary clubs and other groups about the USA and Nebraska. One area of focus will be “Basic Education and Literacy.”
The Rotary Foundation provides a round-trip air ticket, and Rotarians in Brazil provide meals, lodging and group travel in their district. Team members pay for personal and incidental expenses. The trip runs from May 11 to June 8, but participants may extend their stay at their own expense.
Persons interested in applying should be employed full-time in a recognized business or profession. Persons within the age range of 25 to 40 are encouraged to apply. Applicants must live or be employed in Rotary District 5630.
Those who are interested should contact one of the 36 Rotary Clubs from Hastings to Chadron. Each applicant must be endorsed by a Rotary Club.Applicants will be interviewed and GSE team members will be selected on Saturday, Nov. 10 in North Platte.
