A brief power outage on Tuesday night, Oct. 16 led to a communication error with the city’s water system, resulting in very low pressure for Grant residents early the next morning.
According to Midwest Electric, an arrestor that protects transformers failed, causing a fuse to blow.
The city’s computer system did not relay the message that there had been an outage, thus there was no communication that the city’s wells had malfunctioned.
According to city hall, the problem causing the communication error is being looked into and will be corrected.
