Wallace octet sings National Anthem at football championships PDF Print E-mail

The Wallace Boys Octet was invited to sing the “National Anthem” at the Class D2 State Championship Football Game Nov. 19.
The boys met at Memorial Stadium at 8 a.m. for a sound check practice. While waiting for the 10:15 game, the boys hung out in and around the stadium seeing the Husker athletes “Wall of Fame,” their study centers, cafeteria and athletic offices. The boys even saw a few athletes and talked to defensive players Eric Martin and Will Compton.
The octet waited on the sidelines during the starting lineups before they sang. Once their work was done, the boys had a beautiful view of the game as they watched it from the box seats. The short-lived performance was a very memorable experience.
