The coming Saturday in Grant was set to be “Turkey Day.” and the event was expected to bring in one of the biggest crowds ever. At 3:30 in the afternoon, Dec. 11, several turkeys were going to be released from the back of a truck in downtown Grant. Those who caught the turkeys were to keep them as their prize. The opportunity to secure a free turkey was not the only event to attract patrons in town that day, many merchants were to be offering great sales as well.
