The Groundwater Committee of the Upper Republican Natural Resources District proposal will present their recommendations for the next  five-year allocation period Tuesday.
The URNRD board will meet in Imperial for their regular meeting Tuesday, Jan. 8, beginning at 1 p.m. They will hear the recommendations as part of the regular agenda.
The board has discussed allocations and other possible changes and offered input to the committee over the last several months. However, this will be the first formal draft of recommendations brought to the board by the committee.
Before the NRD can adopt new rules and regulations, the proposals must be presented at a public hearing. Patrons of the district can then offer input on proposed changes.
A four-week notice period is required prior to a hearing so the earliest could be mid February.
