PCHS speakers take first at Chase County PDF Print E-mail

Saturday, Jan. 5, opened the competitive speech season for PCHS speakers who travelled to Imperial for the annual Chase County Invite.
The contest, attended by students from six area schools (Hershey, Sutherland, Paxton, Chase County, North Platte St. Pat’s and Perkins County), followed a traditional two-round preliminary, one-round final scope of competition.
Competitors, events, and finals placings were these:  Informative–Hannah Beck, first; Amanda Osler fifth and Top Novice–Allison Kiolbasa. Entertainment–Sammy Snogren, first; Allison Kiolbasa, second. Poetry–Lexi Schmidt,  second; Lila Konecky, third. Humorous Prose–Lexi Schmidt, fourth; Brady Mailand, sixth; Lila Konecky. Serious Prose–Colton White fifth;  Kylie  Hansen, sixth. Duet Acting–Lacey Jensen and Rachel Patrick, second; Mariah Curtis and Brandie Ross, fourth; Kendra Hoffert and Stephanie Schrotberger, fifth; Hailey Sletten and Capri Meyer. Oral Interpretation of Drama–Hannah Beck, Lacey Jensen, Lila Konecky, Rachel Patrick, and Sammy Snogren, first; Elliot Carlson, Quinton Hite, Blake Poppe, Jake Sexson and Colton White, third.
PCHS took home first place team honors with a total of 82 points, followed by Paxton with 66 points  and  Chase County in third place with 61 points.
