The Lois Jones family celebrated Christmas on the weekend. Included were Ken and Nita Jones of Omaha; Vern and Pixie Jones of Fort Morgan, Colo.; Randy and Cathy Jones of Westminster, Colo. and Leroy and Connie Jones.
Ben and Max Jones called on Sunday afternoon.
Ann and Marcia Rau traveled to Jolene and LeRoy Russell’s home last weekend for a family Christmas. The Russells now live in Beatrice.
Other family members were grandson Matt Owens and friend Kaite Phelps of Omaha and granddaughter Angela and Andie Holt and family from Abilene, Kan.
Mike Taylor and Lacey and Beau were breakfast guests of Betty Larsen on Friday morning. The children spent the rest of the day with Grandma Larsen. Mike took the children home to Payson, Ariz., on Saturday.
Kathe Erlewine went to Sacramento, Calif., to visit Terry and Steven and families. She spent two days in Foster, Calif., over Christmas Eve with Terry and Tone visiting relatives. She spent a total of eight days with her sons and returned home on Dec. 27.
Saturday Delores Swan was a guest at the Marvin Swan home to visit with Daniel and Stacey Swan and family of Omaha.
Friday morning David, Kate and Lauren of Lincoln visited Delores Swan on their way home from skiing in Colorado
The Farmersville ABC Club met at Westview on Thursday for their regular meeting in January. Seven members answered roll call with their favorite patriotic song. The Pledge of Allegiance and creed were also spoken. They sang My Nebraska for their song.Dorothy McArtor showed some family photographs to identify. There is a resemblance between generations. It should encourage people to label and date the pictures in their homes. Ruth Ochsner read an article “Kind Words Make Happy People” and had various suggestions as to not raise your voice in discussions, think before you speak, be kind to others, treat everyone like you would like to be treated. Kind words are like medicine. A lesson on Americanism was given by Delores Swan with a question and answer type program on the government. The next meeting will be Feb. 14 at Westview Retirement with a gift for the Perkins County food pantry.
