Nebraska Chamber’s annual meeting set
On Thursday, Feb. 17, the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold its annual meeting and Legislative caucus at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel in Lincoln.
This event is one of Nebraska’s most prominent business gatherings and the Nebraska Chamber’s largest event of the year.
According to Barry Kennedy, president of the state chamber, this year’s annual meeting will provide an opportunity to learn about issues and legislation impacting Nebraska’s economy and business community.
Attendees will hear from state officials and policy experts, while paying tribute to some of the state’s most recognized business leaders.
Governor Dave Heineman will address the noon luncheon. The afternoon will feature the annual business meeting, followed by four discussion panels on critical topics facing the business community.
The discussion panels, which will feature some of the state’s leading policy experts and lawmakers, will address:
• Nebraska early childhood education efforts
• Nebraska’s public schools’ role in workforce development
• Recruiting and retaining the next generation of employees; and
• Business-related issues in the Nebraska Legislature
The evening will include a reception beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the annual banquet and Nebraska Business Hall of Fame induction ceremony starting at 7 p.m.
All of the day’s events, except the morning board of directors meeting are open to the public and members of the news media.
