Midwest selects nominees to serve on board

Ten nominees are slated for election to serve as directors for three year terms on the board of directors for Midwest Electric Cooperative Corporation.
The nominating committee met Jan. 15 to select nominees for Districts 1, 5 and 9.
All three incumbents for the districts were nominated for another term, including Ron Ivers, Ron Hagan and Rod Clough, respectively.
Nominees for District 1 include: Incumbent Ivers of Ogallala, Calvin Berry and Denny Ansley of Lemoyne, and John Ervin of Brule.
District 5 nominees are: Incumbent Hagan of Madrid, along with Shannon Malmkar and Pat Aerni, both of Madrid.
District 9 nominees besides incumbent Clough of Wallace are John Friesen and Brian Banks who are also both from Wallace.
Upon being given directions for their duties and functions by Cindy Salsman, administrative services manager at the nominating meeting, the committee was organized with the selection of Kasey Kroeker as chair and Chris Cornelius serving as secretary.
Those present as members of the nominating committee were Burdett Cooley of Lemoyne-Dist. 1; Norman Duba of Ogallala-Dist. 2; Ray Seifer of Sutherland-Dist. 3; Pat Aylward of Dickens-Dist. 4; Dan Burge of Grant-Dist. 5; Chris Cornelius of Elsie-Dist. 5; Joe McBride of Brule-Dist. 6; Leon Kumor of Grant-Dist. 7; Kasey Kroeker of Grant-Dist. 8; Larry Gibson of Wallace-Dist. 9; Jim Trusty of Wallace-Dist. 9.
The election of directors for the three districts will be held during the annual meeting of the cooperative scheduled to be held on Thursday, March 14 at Perkins County High School in Grant.
