Jessie Woodmancy, a senior at Perkins County High School, has been selected as senior of the month for January 2013.
She is the daughter of Robert and Patty Woodmancy of Grant.
One of Woodmancy’s favorite pursuits is working with children, and she has demonstrated that enthusiasm with her participation as a volunteer at Wonderful Wednesdays and Bible school at Grant United Methodist Church as well as youth basketball. “It’s always fun to work with all the energy they have,” she said.
Showing equal energy throughout her high school career, Woodmancy has been a participant in volleyball, cheerleading, basketball and track; FFA, FCCLA, FCA, student council and National Honor Society.
She has been a member of band, chorus and has participated in musicals and plays.        She held the class office of secretary this year.
Woodmancy’s future plans include enrolling at Nebraska Wesleyan for her undergraduate studies.
For being selected Senior of the Month, Woodmancy’s picture will hang in the lobby of Pinnacle Bank in Grant and she will be eligible for a scholarship awarded at the end of the school year.
The Student of the Month and scholarship program are sponsored by Pinnacle Bank of Grant and members of the community.
