Ogallala Art Society to present travel show PDF Print E-mail

The Art Society of Ogallala is sponsoring The Association of Nebraska Art Clubs (ANAC) Travel Show at the Petrified Wood Gallery, 418 East 1st St. in Ogallala. The show will be at the gallery Feb. 15–March 4.
ANAC has 43 clubs and 843 members. A four-day art conference comprised of workshops and a judged art show is held once a year. Each club is given a quota of how many of their best pieces of art may be entered.
At the conference in Aurora in 2012 there were 369 entries. The judge was Paul Leveille, a nationally known artis, workshop instructor and author from Massachusetts. He chose 25 pieces to receive “Certificate of Excellence” awards, including a “Best of Show.” This group of award winning pieces is called “The ANAC Travel Show” and is traveling around the state to 20 host towns.
The art is on display for about three weeks at each location.
The gallery is open Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. The phone number is 308-284-9996.
Best of Show was awarded to Tina Simeon, a member of The Art Society of Ogallala.
