Speakers receive superiors at state meet PDF Print E-mail

The State Speech Contest held at UNK on March 21-22 provided an opportunity for 15 Perkins County High School speakers to perform for the last time during this competitive season.
In two preliminary rounds of competition, speakers accumulate rankings and rating points within each round. Placings are based on the lowest rankings and highest points.
Although no PCHS speakers advanced to finals, on 20 of the 22 ballots, speakers achieved superior points. Contestants, rankings, rating points, and final state placement are as follows:
Oral Interpretation of Drama–Elliot Carlson, Quinton Hite, Jake Sexson, Blake Poppe, and Colton White (3/48 and 4/46) 10th; Hannah Beck,Lacey Jensen, Lila Konecky, Rachel Patrick, and Sammy Snogren (6/44 and 5/46) 18th; Duet Acting–Rachel Patrick and Lacey Jensen–(4/46 and 4/46) 11th; Humorous Prose–Brady Mailand (6/46 and 4/46) 13th; Entertainment–Allison Kiolbasa (6/45 and 4/46) 16th, Sammy Snogren (6/45 and 5/47) 17th; Persuasive–Callie Meyer (5/45/ and 5/45) 17th; Serious Prose–Rachel Carrig (6/45 and 5/45) 17th; Informative–Allison Kiolbasa (5/46 and 6/43) 18th; Poetry–Lila Konecky (5/47/ and 6/45) 18th.
