Anthem singer audition deadline is approaching PDF Print E-mail

The Nebraska Sports Council will conduct its third state-wide competition to determine the singer of the Star Spangled Banner at this year’s Cornhusker State Games Opening Ceremonies.
To enter, contestants must upload their audition video to and submit a link to that YouTube video by midnight on April 21.
The 2013 competition is only open to individuals; no group contestants are allowed. A judging panel will determine five finalists and online voting by the public via the Cornhusker State Games Facebook page between April 26 and May 10 will determine the winner. The winner earns the right to perform the anthem at the CSG Opening Ceremonies on July 19 and will be recognized in the Nebraska Sports Council Yearbook. All five finalists will receive gift cards from Amigos/Kings Classic, which sponsors the Anthem Contest. Entrants are required to include their name, age, hometown, phone number and email address with their contest video. Contestants must be amateurs and Nebraska residents. Lodging will be provided if the winner lives more than 50 miles from Lincoln.
More than 12,000 Nebraskans are expected to participate in more than 60 sports at the 29th annual Cornhusker State Games, which take place July 19-28. Registration is now open.
