Meyer chosen as Senior of the Month for April
Callie Meyer, a senior at Perkins County High School, has been chosen as April’s Senior of the Month.
Throughout high school, Callie has always tried to be a positive role model through academics and involvement in extracurricular activities.
Activities that she has participated in have included volleyball as a manager, basketball, band, mock trial, speech and drama.
She has been a class officer three years, treasurer her senior year and vice president as a sophomore and junior.
She is a member of National Honor Society, and has maintained a high grade point average all four years of high school.
In the community, Callie has been a participant in Einstein Academy.
She has been employed by LVR Limited for four years.
Following graduation, Callie has plans to attend either Doane College or the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, studying biology or biochemistry, earning a doctorate and eventually teaching at the high school or college level.
She has a strong interest in meteorology as well, and would like to incorporate the study of weather during the summers.
One of her goals is to continue her interest in music and participate in marching band.
Callie is the daughter of Ryal and Christine Meyer.
For being selected Senior of the Month, her picture will hang in the lobby of Pinnacle Bank in Grant and she will be eligible for a scholarship awarded at the end of the school year.
The Student of the Month and scholarship program are sponsored by Pinnacle Bank of Grant and members of the community.
