Golden Spike announces photo contest PDF Print E-mail

Train-loving photographers could have their work on display at a popular train-oriented attraction.
The Golden Spike Tower and Visitor Center, overlooking Union Pacific’s Bailey Yard in North Platte, has announced its first-ever photography contest.
“The only requirement is that the photo include a train–any kind of train, any part of a train,” said JoAnne Hoatson, executive director of the Golden Spike Tower & Visitor Center.
The winning photo, selected by a panel of judges, will be enlarged to an 18” x 36” print, framed and placed on display at the Golden Spike Tower for one year. The photographer’s name and hometown will be prominently noted as well. The winning photograph will be announced in September.
Entries will be accepted between April 1 and July 31, 2013. Online entry and contest details are available at www.goldenspiketower.com/photocontest. Cost is $25 per entry. Photos can be black and white or color.
