The Wallace Wildcats capped off the 2013 track season with three Wildcats competing in the Class D state track meet in Omaha on May 17 and 18.
It was a successful trip for the Wildcats. Freshman Tanner Clough placed sixth in the 3200 meter run with his personal best time. Tanner also competed in the 1600 meter run, gaining some valuable experience as a freshman.
Juniors Landon Swedberg and Shane Anders competed in the discus. Landon ended up making the finals with his throw of 133’3”, just shy of his personal best. He finished ninth overall.
It was a valuable experience for all three boys, and hopefully the excitement can spread and carry over to next year’s track season.
