FFA members awarded memorial scholarships PDF Print E-mail

This was the first year that the Perkins County FFA Chapter awarded the Katie Rowley and Michael Dreiling Memorial Scholarships to two graduating senior FFA members.
This year’s recipients of the Katie Rowley Scholarship went to Jessi Hoffert, daughter of Dave and Janet Hoffert. Jessi is planning on attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney to major in business administration with an emphasis in accounting and a minor in Spanish.
Jacob Sexson, son of Doug and Shari Sexson, received the Michael Dreiling Scholarship. Jacob will be attending the University of Lincoln in the fall majoring in accounting and a minor in finance.
Each will receive a $250 scholarship for use in their college expenses, which will be awarded to them upon their enrollment in their second semester of college.
The Perkins County FFA chapter has used donations from the “I Believe in the Future of Agriculture” campaign to support this scholarship, along with the Katie and Michael “New Chapter” scholarship which was awarded to the first year FFA chapter at state FFA.
This $3,000 award is designed to assist a new chapter in their ability to grow and become successful, all in memory of Katie Rowley and Michael Dreiling.          The PC FFA chapter wishes to continue this award for years to come and with assistance from other FFA chapters and the community will make every effort to do so.
