Rosalie Curtis of Elsie and Dolores Sexson of Grant attended the 2013 Grand Session Order of Eastern Star in Kearney last week. This was held in the new convention center and hotel which is a lovely addition to Kearney. No need to go out in the bad weather as it is all under one room. The food was great and reasonable with a great continental breakfast every morning. The Western Eastern Stars are happy to have it closer to home. Barbara and Wayne Aten of Goodland, Kan. were there to enjoy the meetings, etc. Barbara is a past Grand Worthy Matron of Nebraska and formerly of Grant. In 1962 Dolores Sexson flew to Omaha with Garrett and Martha Jane Dudden in their plane for Grand Chapter. She served as Martha Jane’s Grand Page that year. Dolores has served as Grand organist, Grand Representative to Oregon, Grand Page and President of the Grand Representatives Assoc. banquet. Their Eastern Star motto, “Fairest among thousands all together lovely.” Rosalie and Dolores returned home late Friday in a wonderfully needed rain storm—tired, but ready to go again next year to Kearney.
